Background 2029: Arachnes (Revised)

 Arachnes

General
Female Others who can change into spiders, can naturally spin webs in human form, can climb walls, and cling to most any surface in human form.

            Powers
Can shapeshift into spiders that vary in size from that of a German Shepard to that of approximately a Great Dane. The widows can spray spider silk out of their mouths. The tarantulas are fast and agile leapers.

Venomous bites from both can paralyze their victims. Can then feed on their victims by draining everything out of them.

Can cling to surfaces and climb walls in human form.

Can spin webs in human form by spraying spider silk out of their mouths.

Immune to insect bites / stings of any kind.

            Weaknesses & Limitations
Silver is fatal. Normal human weaknesses when in human form. Sluggish in the cold.

            Lifestyle
Females are usually solitary and predatory. Don’t take kindly to others of their kind.

Lay eggs, all those born are female Arachnes. Choose a suitable Normal human male to mate / dominate. Like to leave live food for their newly hatched babies to feed on. Typically kill and eat their mate after sex. Believe it to be good for the eggs they’ll be laying.

Bleed yellow blood.

Stronger Arachne often seek out, kill and feed on weaker members of their kind.

            Side Effects
Don’t need to eat vegetables or carbs. Drain all their live prey of juices in a way similar to a False Vampyre.

Don’t get along with others well. Are very solitary.

            Other Supernaturals
Vampyres have no interest in them and vice versa. Arachnes need to feed on live prey.

Can be fried to a crisp by Apollos.

Ubi love the challenge of seducing them in human form and feeding on them. There’s no nutritional value there, but many Ubi love the taste anyway.

Cannibals tend not to be interested in them. Like vampyres, they don't like how they taste.

Insectiforms can sense them in human form and aren’t above attacking them and feeding on them in their spider form.

Are immune to the venom that Venoms use.

Background 2029: 13/30's

 13/30’s

General
Paranormals who spend their lives shifting back and forth between their 13 and 30 year old selves.

Time limited power that requires a rebound time.

Unlike many human Paranormals, this power is a late developing one, with the first shifts occurring in the late teen years or early 20’s. At first, they can only shift back to their 13-yr old self since they can’t shift into a future version of themselves. Once they’ve turned 30, however, they can effectively choose which self they want to shift into.

For reasons no one understands more women have this power than men.

Because it’s a minor power and there’s no need for them to change, many 13/30’s choose to change rarely or, even, not at all.

            Powers
Shapeshifting human paranormals who can only shift back and forth between being their 13-yr old self and their 30-yr old self.

            Weaknesses & Limitations
Power starts later than most human Paranormals.

Until they reach age 30 they can only shift back into their 13-yr old self.

Aside from being able to shift into either of these ages, they have no other powers. Same weaknesses and limitations as regular humans.

Lifestyle
Tend to appreciate their powers more the older they get.

            Side Effects
            No real known side effects.

            Other Supernaturals
Have the most in common with Agers due to the age-related nature of their power.

Bacchanalians  --  Literally have lust in their veins. They live to party, they’re the ultimate hedonists.

Cassandras  --  Psychics see possible futures, Cassandras see the future. Only, they’re not able to communicate it in an inteligible way. The true futures they see drive them temporarily mad.

Centaurs  -- The Centaur form is their true form, but they’re able to shapeshift into human form to blend in.

Cyclopses – Can seal their two eyes and generate a third ‘all-seeing’ eye in the center of their forehead.

Cupids  --  Can cause others to fall in love.

Daedalae  --  Can fly but only for a temporary period of time.

Drones  --  Aliens, tied to one another.

Fates  --  Write. Always. The fate of others.

Harpies  --  Condor-sized birds that are female. They can appear beautiful or horrid, depending on their mood and ‘audience’. Smaller female-sized heads, tiny human women breasts. Black and white feathers. Amazing eyesight, whether in shifted form or in human form.
Lay eggs to reproduce. Learning to fly is hard. Are meat eaters and not afraid to eat dead things.

Lucretias  --  With their vagina dentata, they’re not like any women you’ve ever come across ever.

Merfolk  --  Merfolk is their standard form, but can shape shift into human form to blend in.

Midases – Anything they want to turn into gold, they can turn into gold but what they change only stays changed for as long as they live.
The more things they change into gold, the shorter they make their lifespans.
Bleed gold, liquid gold.
When they die, everything they’ve changed to gold changes back. But when they die they permanently change into gold themselves.
What they change, they can change back, but the simple act of changing something in the first place shortens their lifeline. Organic things that are changed die, and don’t come back to life when changed back.

Minotaurs  --  Only male. Have to eat humans. Have bovine DNA. Can change into half bull/half human.

Muses  --  They’re power is to inspire others and give others creativity.

Oedipals  --  Can erase the emotioanl pain of others by taking it on themselves but, go blind in the process.

Penelopes  --  Bond with those they have first have sex with and are forever loyal and linked to them, no matter what.

Satyrs  --  Male Satyrs are either violent or pranksters. Female Satyrs aren’t as violent as the men but are often seductresses.

Syrens  --  Always female and always start out life as a Mer. They are turned by another Syren or...they turn spontaneously on their own. Once turned they need water a lot less than there Mer kin but are much, much stronger in water than out of it.

Under Consideration....

Vesuviuses  --  Human volcanoes, can cause earthquakes, emit ash storms and generate molten lava to use as weapons. Can ‘erupt’ flatening everything nearby and turning all living things immediately into ash.

Orpheuses  --  Paranormals who can play music to summon the dead to do their bidding. But they can’t bring the dead back to life.

Disgustings  --  Paranormals who’s power is over the disgusting, the revolting.

John Does  --  No fingerprints, no DNA, people’s memory of them fades after a brief while so they’re not remembered. They’re truly the anonymous.
