Background 2029: Camino Real Riverboats

 Camino Real Riverboats

Runs hover riverboats designed to look like old-time Mississippi riverboats. Run from Santo Domingo in the north to Elephant Butte in the south, with stops along the way.

All the bridges between Elephant Butte and Santo Domingo are draw bridges which open up to allow the riverboats through as they pass.

All riverboats feature gambling, shows and prostitutes.

They have various levels of accommodations designed to attract all sorts of clients.

            The Rio Grande Queen

            The Bosque Star

            The Desert Mistress

            The Camino Real Princess

The boats are often referred to by the last part of their names only, The Queen, The Star, The Mistress and The Princess.

The two cruises the riverboats run are:

The Elephant Butte Cruise
Doing a circular loop of Elephant Butte Lake.

            Elephant Butte to Santo Domingo
With stops in Belen, Los Lunas, La Ciudad de Atrisco, Alburquerque Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. Each boat does one cruise to and from. After returning to Elephant Butte, it runs the Butte cruise before going offline for cleaning and refurbishing.

When one boat finishes the river cruise and returns to the Butte for the Butte cruise another boat readies to depart for the next river cruise, so that two boats are always in service and two boats out of service at any given time.

The cruises up river have to be timed and coordinated with the bridges being raised for the boats. The only time the bridges can be raised is overnight, to minimize the impact on traffic.

Each boat has a main casino, a theater, a couple of restaurants, a strip club, a gym, a detention center, an emergency medical operations suite.

Each boat had a Neutralizer on board, to help protect against Paranormals. Each boat had a security team and a brig in case of troublemakers.
