Apollos
General
Apollos are human paras who can harness the power of the sun. They can absorbe and ‘store’ sunlight in their bodies for use at other times.
Powers
By storing sunlight in their bodies, Apollos can later unleash the sunlight and use it in various ways. The can unleash the sun through their fingertips, through their eyes, even through the palms of their hands. By concentrating their stored sunlight they can set things ablaze.
In the dark they can cause their whole bodies to glow, like a human firefly. They can glow so brightly and fiercely that they temporarily blind anyone who looks directly at them.
Can store their sunlight and use their power at night.
Can heal most all wounds with their sunlight as long as they have enough of a reserve. Wounds heal from the inside. Sunlight pours out of them while healing. Heal even faster in the sun, during the day, than at other times.
Can create a ‘solar shield’ around themselves to protect against projectiles.
Weaknesses & Limitations
Need to ‘recharge’ by spending large amounts of time in the sun from time to time. Failure to spend enough time in the sun reduces their strength.
Silver is fatal.
Legal
Clearly, storing up and being able to use the power of the sun and set things on
fire would be a legal concern for government.
Lifestyle
Spend a lot of time in the sun outdoors. Don’t enjoy the clouds and cloudy days.
Side Effects
Don’t get skin cancer, regardless of how much sun exposure they have. Also, don’t tend to prematurely wrinkle.
Can get other diseases but generally don’t. Tend to live to old age.
Have a problem with spontaneously combusting, like Pyros do.
Tend to have a ‘sunny’ disposition and be naturally positive.
Other Paras, Others and the Undead
Share a lot in common with Pyros.
Can clearly be lethal to those Undead who are sun-sensitive.
Their sunlight can show an astral projection to be just that, a projection.
Can use their powers to dissipate any and all fogs put out by Foggers.
Can reveal a Mirror by shining light onto a mirror they are hiding in.
Remote Viewers have a hard time seeing them while they’re using their power.
Their sunlight can dissipate all shadows put out by a Shadowcaster.
Their sunlight can penetrate Shielders shields.
Sponges can absorb their sunlight for use by themselves, later.
Are especially hard on Visuals who try to look at them directly while they’re using their powers.
